How does the return process for packaging bags work?

When you return your deposit bags to Makro, we ensure that the bags are delivered to Statiegeld Nederland. Statiegeld Nederland counts the bags, bottles, and cans and will credit the deposit as agreed between you as the seller and/or collection points and Statiegeld Nederland. The wholesaler is no longer involved in this process. Makro does not become the owner of the deposit bags or their contents and is therefore not liable for the contents or the actions or omissions of Statiegeld Nederland. 

Makro only takes care of the return process for the bags. The labelled bags can be handed over to the driver for return. Makro cannot accept the packaging bag if it does not contain a customer label with a barcode. Statiegeld Nederland uses the customer label to determine to whom they can pay the deposit refund. You receive this barcode from Statiegeld Nederland. 

If you are not yet familiar with accepting PET bottles with a deposit and would like to make use of this, or if you would now like to make use of this with the addition of a deposit on cans, then register with Statiegeld Nederland as a collection point. 

You can purchase the packaging bags and sealing strips at our branches and/or in your order catalogue, and we will handle the returns to Statiegeld Nederland.

• Mini Bag: 120L Makro Article no: 1556529 (per roll of 12 bags) 

(The cost of the bags is €1 per bag and these will be reimbursed by Statiegeld Nederland upon the refund of the deposit) Labels for the sealing strip will be provided to you after registration by Statiegeld Nederland.
